Viva la Lana – Manos Design Submission

Is an initiative that wants to develop stronger bonds between us  -the makers of Manos- and you -the creative yarn community-.

We want to encourage creative, beautiful, independent design using Manos yarns and to showcase and communicate your  talent.

We will be happy to receive submissions from both new and established designers from all over the world.

Viva la Lana – Manos Design Submition es una iniciativa que busca estrechar los lazos entre los que hacemos Manos y la comunidad creativa de tejido.

Queremos promover el diseño creativo, lindo e independiente usando nuestros hilados y al mismo tiempo comunicar y mostrar tu talento.

Estaremos encantados de recibir propuestas de diseñadores nuevos y profesionales de cualquier parte del mundo.  

This is how it works:
You design with your favorite Manos yarns in mind, send us your pattern design (be it notes, a sketch or a swatch) explaining the yarn, color and quantity that you need. Also tell us the time you need to design, knit, write and publish the pattern.

Please send it to [email protected] and also send us your data/bio making sure to include your blog/site/instagram/ravelry user.

We will review all the submissions and  contact the selected ones to organize a schedule and send you the yarn you need.
When you publish the pattern on Ravelry, Magcloud or your site of choice, we’ll  share it in our webpage, Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook.

Así funciona:

Tu diseñas con el hilado de Manos en mente y nos mandas tus bocetos, notas, swatches, etc. 

Manda tus diseños a [email protected] y asegúrate de enviarnos también tus datos (una mini-bio) e incluir tu sitio, blog, redes sociales y usuario de Ravelry. 

Nosotros evaluaremos todos los envíos y haremos una selección.  Te contactaremos para contarte que fuiste seleccionado y para coordinar una agenda y el envío de hilado.

Cuando publiques el patrón (en Ravelry, Magcloud o tu sitio de elección), nosotros vamos a compartirlo en nuestras redes sociales, Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, etc.

We will be posting new calls for entries every three months.

To make it more fun, we are choosing a theme for each call. The themes can be bits of Uruguay’s cultural heritage, aspects of the sheep and wool world, etc. The theme will be just an inspiration, a starting point and can translate into a stitch, shape, color scheme or a mood, no need to be literal at all. We will be sharing inspirational images in our Instagram and Facebook.

Haremos nuevos llamados cada 3 meses.  Para hacerlo más divertido vamos a elegir un tema cada vez. Los temas van a tener que ver con la cultura uruguaya, el mundo de la lana, etc. El tema es simplemente una inspiración,  un punto de partida que se puede traducir en un punto, forma, paleta de colores o como tú quieras.
