Les queremos compartir un poco de la colaboración que venimos haciendo, hace un tiempo, con esta especial y querida marca: Gabriela Hearst. Para quienes no la conocen, Gabriela es uruguaya, vive en Nueva York y dirige esta marca desde 2015.

We would like to share a bit of the the collaboration that we have been doing with this special brand: Gabriela Hearst. For those who doesn´t know her, Gabriela is Uruguayan, lives in NYC and own this brand since 2015.

Compartimos con ella el espíritu de conocer cada fragmento (detalle) del proceso, desde la selección de los hilados y colores, las agujas con las que se tejerán puntos y carreras, cuidar cada detalle de la construcción de las prendas y hasta las ovejas de las cuales proviene la lana. La belleza de lo simple, el lujo de las fibras naturales, el respeto y admiración por la naturaleza, y finalmente el diseño y la calidad que hace a las prendas duraderas y especiales, que dan ganas de usarlas la vida entera.

We share with her the spirit of knowing every step of the process: From the selection of yarns and colors, to the needles in which we will knit. Taking care of every detail of the garment´s construction is as important as taking special care the sheep from which the wool comes. The beauty of simplicity, the luxury of natural fibers, the respect and admiration for nature, and finally the design and quality that makes the garments durable and special, that makes them usable the whole life.

Para las colecciones Fall 16 y Resort 17 desarrollamos prendas y accesorios tejidos y telados a mano en los hilados más suaves del mundo! Lana merino, cashmere y yak. Cada prenda fue diseñada en colaboración, trabajamos con dedicación y amor desde las ideas de Gabriela Hearst apoyados en nuestro departamento técnico y diseñadores en Montevideo para producir en tres cooperativas: Florida (CADEF), Tacuarembò (COTAM) y Sarandí Grande (CAFLODUR)

Each garment was design and produced in collaboration between Gabriela Hearst ideas of design and our technical department at Montevideo. During each step of the process we worked with commitment & love. Finally we produced in three different cooperatives in Florida (CADEF), Tacuarembò (COTAM) and Sarandí Grande (CAFLODUR)

-> Paysandú, sus orígenes -> Paysandú, her roots + Manos del Uruguay

Gabriela creció en la estancia familiar Santa Isabel en Paysandú, es por esto que el campo es un concepto muy fuerte detrás de su marca, desde los materiales hasta las forma de sus prendas. En la estancia se crían ovejas de las cuales proviene la lana merino de alguno de sus hermosos sweaters. Su padre llevó adelante la estancia cuidando y certificando su producción, de esta misma manera Gabriela desarrolla su marca y sus colecciones.

Gabriela grew up in Santa Isabel, the family ranch in Paysandu. This is why the countryside is a very strong concept behind her brand. From materials to the shape of  the garments. At the ranch they breed sheeps, some of this sheeps will bring their merino wool for the beatiful sweaters of Gabriela Hearst winter collection. His father carried on the ranch caring and certifying their production. In this same way Gabriela develops her brand and collections.

Este rincón uruguayo recibe a Gabriela y su familia durante sus vacaciones. Gabi transmite a sus hijos los valores familiares rodeada de la sombra de los árboles y los animales que su familia ha criado por seis generaciones. El vínculo entre sus raíces y su paso por la moda son, a esta altura muy estrechos, al punto de haber ganado el International Woolmark Prize de Estados Unidos que otorga The Woolmark Company.

This uruguayan nice place receives Gabriela and her family during their holidays. Gabi shares to their childrens the family values surrounded by the shade of the trees and animals breeded by her family for six generations. Her roots and her point of view of fashion are very close at this height. A clear sample is that this year, she was awarded by The Woolmark Company with the US International Woolmark Prize.
