El pasado 13 de setiembre ofrecimos el TALLER DE INTRODUCCIÓN AL TAPIZ. Entre porcelana antigua, muebles vintage y mantelería estampada Santa Paciencia nos recibió en un día de tormenta. El viento y la lluvia, no pudieron detener al numeroso y entusiasmado grupo de valientes mujeres que llegaron con muchas ganas de aprender.

On September 13^th we offered the Workshop Introduction to Tapestry. SANTA PACIENCIA receive us Among vintage china, vintage furniture and printed tablecloth setting up the perfect mood for the workshop in such a stormy night. The wind and rain couldn´t stop the enthusiastic group of brave women who came eager to learn.

Rodeados de coloridos hilados, tops de lana, bastidores y navetas, Ana de Prado y Fernanda Ferreira transmitieron sus conocimientos del telar. El telar es una técnica ancestral que permite mezclar y entrelazar en tramas y urdimbres distintos materiales y colores. Generando hermosos tapices decorativos.

Surrounded by colorful yarn, wool tops, weaving frames and shuttle sticks, Ana de Prado and Fernanda Ferreira passed on their knowledge on handloom. Handloom is an ancient technique that allows mixing and interlacing wefts and warps in different materials and colors, creating beautiful decorative tapestries.

Entre preguntas, ovillos, puntadas y lanas de colores los bastidores se fueron llenando de diversos motivos cuyo resultado final llenó de orgullo a sus creadoras.
Para Manos fue una alegría poder enseñar esta técnica que junto a las charlas, y el té logramos mantener vivas las tradiciones de nuestro querido Uruguay.

Among questions, colored wool and stitches the weaving frames started to fill with various designs. Everybody was very happy with the end result. For Manos it´s a privilege and we are very proud to teach the Handloom technique that keeps alive the traditions of our beloved Uruguay.
