Last week, we were honoured to meet Patti Smith; Iconic singer, song-writer and poet. In this opportunity Patti Smith told the audience about our nonprofit organization while wearing one of our iconic ponchos. 

La semana pasada, tuvimos el emocionante honor de encontrarnos con Patti Smith, ícono de la música, literatura y poesía  para contarle sobre nuestra organización y hacerle llegar una de nuestras icónicas ruanas.

Smith presented a concert/ talk to a selected- intimate audience at the Krichner Cultural Center in Buenos Aires.  The main goal is to awaken and bring awareness  of climate crisis and the need for real and urgent actions.

This event was organized by Kabinett, a global platform founded by Eduardo Constantini Jr.- The aim was to present Pathway to Paris in Buenos Aires, first time in Latin America. PATHWAY TO PARIS, is cofounded by Rebecca Foon and Jesee Smith (Patti´s Smith daughter), which advocates the practice of the Paris agreement for the non-emission of toxic gases.

Smith se presentó en Buenos Aires en el Centro Cultural Kirchner, en una charla y  concierto íntimo destinado a discutir y concientizar sobre los peligros del cambio climático  y la necesidad de acciones reales y urgentes.

El evento fue-de la mano de Kabinett,  la plataforma fundada por Eduardo Costantini (H)-  la presentación de Pathway to Paris, la fundación de Rebecca Foon y de Jesse Smith (hija de Patti) que aboga por  la práctica del Acuerdo de París para la no emisión de gases tóxicos.

 

 

Patti vistió la ruana de Manos en la presentación  y dedicó unos minutos a contar a la audiencia la importancia de la misión de Manos de promoción de la mujer y felicitarnos por nuestro compromiso con la sustentabilidad.   Fué un momento muy emocionante.

Patti looked amazing with the Poncho during the presentation. She told the audience about the importance of Manos del Uruguay´s mission to promote the role of women and congratulated our commitment with sustainability. It was a very exciting moment.

El concierto contó también con la participación del tibetano Choegyal (quien leyó una carta del Dalai Lama)  Jesse Smith, Juana Molina y Sebastán Salvo, y los integrantes de la banda de Patti, Lenny Kaye y Tony Shanahan.

During the concert there were other amazing artisans such us: Tenzin Choegyal the Tibetan musician who read a letter written by Dalai Lama, Juana Molina and Sebastian Salvo, Argentine musicians, and the member of Patti Smith band: Lenny Kaye and Tony Shanahan.
